Person Centered Excellence Report, June 2015

In June, two major projects were completed and one event was held.

The “Guiding Principles for Assisting Individuals to Exercise their Rights” document was finished and approved by the Directors Team.  These guidelines outline our approach to such topics as the value of self-advocacy, guardianship, representative payee status, housing rights, voting, health care decision making, educational rights and fostering the rights of people we support residentially.

Additionally, the Nine-Month Status Report required by CQL was also completed.  This document highlights our accomplishments, discusses our challenges, addresses the specific topics requested by CQL, and describes our plans for the immediate future.

Finally, the first DSP focus groups were held.  They will be held quarterly going forward and we encourage DSPs to participate.
